Club now well up and running for 2012
Recently we held our first work party of 2012, where a big gang assembled at our woods for some work on improving our course. We have big aims to develop a 28 target International course in addition to an SBG course, and already both courses are in progress. Other work parties are to be announced, and our members shall be notified as all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who turned up for the first work party.
Our AGM takes place in Corcorans on this coming Thursday night (26th) at 8pm sharp. Members please notify Clodagh (acting secretary) if going to ensure enough seating is placed out to avoid delay in getting the meeting underway. Hoping for a good attendance on the night.
Up coming shoots are as follows…
IAC fun shoot… Jan 29th.
Black Dog 14 x 2 3D shoot… Feb 5th.
Loughcrew shoot… Feb 19th.
Warbow shoot… Feb 25th.
Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond Dunbrody Archers control, the IFAF website will not be updated before this time so please await some official confirmation of these shoot dates before travelling. The various club Secretaries will have details once contacted by the clubs hosting these shoots.
Welcome to Dunbrody Archers
Dunbrody Archers was established in 2004 and is based in the New Ross area of Co Wexford.
It is the largest club in the country with over 90 active members. We are affiliated to the Irish Field Archery Federation (IFAF) which is, in turn, affiliated to the International Field Archery Association (IFAA)
Dunbrody Archers’ was founded to promote the art of field archery. Field archery is generally conducted in wooded areas. Targets positioned at varying distances can be picture animal faces or 3D. We have our own woods and an indoor arena, which are used for both training and competition purposes.
The Clubs’ demographic is diverse both in terms of age and social background. The same can be said about the type of archery styles preferred by our members. These range from Traditional (mainly wooden frames) to Compound and Recurve bows which are made from composite materials.
