Dunbrody Archers have been extremely busy so far this year. With open shoots already having taken place at Loughcrew, IAC, Warbow, Drewstown, Warriors of Queen Maeve, as well as an indoor event at Na Laoch Dall, our archers are showing very good form.
Club archer Mark Daly managed to break Chris Dawkins long time Irish “AMBHR” record at Drewstown , having come close to doing so several times in recent months. Very well done Mark and hopefully it may inspire a return to the sport for Chris in the near future.
Our young members are all shooting brilliantly and we hope to see more of this throughout 2012.
We ran a very positive and successful archery demo for a group of Norwegians some weeks back and was attended by Martin, Clodagh, Andrew, & Alex. The tour group enjoyed the whole experience immensely, returning to Oslo with lots of good stories, including how well one of them shot a Flatbow for the first time, hitting the centre circle repeatedly….. but who then struggled big time drawing the Compound bow with very amusing results…
The club has been busy over the past month, designing the club float for this years New Ross St Patricks day parade… A big thanks to all involved.
Adrian has been busy designing our new club crest with several fine samples already completed. The club members shall then decide on the best one.
Sarah is in the final stages of setting up a South East Field Archery Championships which is hoped to be an annual event. Possible dates are now under scrutiny as many of the South East clubs are showing interest in participating in this venture.
Our newly designed 28 target International course is near completion thanks to the dedication of a bunch of club members.
Our club constitution has been updated by Clodagh and the committee.
The committee has met several times as we have a busy season ahead.
The club newsletter compiled by Andrew hits the milestone issue 300 this month too and will be on the notice board very soon.
